If I told you I'm doing it again... Would you support me?

What am I doing? Two more walks! The first one is a 5K Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure September 20th in St. Petersburg. Then, November 21st, I'm doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day, 60 mile walk from Del Mar to San Diego California, both to raise awareness about breast cancer and to raise money for patients that need financial help with treatments. (Please see the links page for more information on both Sponsors.) Last year I did Race for the Cure and 60 miles from Boca Raton to Miami to name a few.

Why? Because I'm a survivor. I was very lucky to have excellent health insurance through a great employer. Others don't, but deserve the care and attention I received.

Who am I? A 40 some odd year old computer specialist, married 23 years to a wonderful guy, with 0 children, 2 cats and 1 boat.

Who am I doing this for? People that I'm lucky to know, and others that I'll never know. People like Lillian, Jackie, Marsha, Sara, Bill, Harry's wife and daughter, my husbands grandmother and father, Regina, Terry, Bill, Jenny's mother, Veronica, Rose and Russell. Since I started this last year, I have been touched by so many people that have their own cancer stories. I want to make sure their stories turn out happily, like mine!

And what about that great guy I spoke of? Larry's going to be a Crew Member for the 3 day trip! He'll be at Pit Stop #2.

I want to thank a few friends at work for their support and assistance on this walk. My web page guys are Greg and Scott, making sure my hyperlinks work. And Theresa, my fearless leader! She keeps me going in and out of the office!

I have left a lot of the postings, photos and links from last year's walk, so you will have an idea of what we're doing. I'll update the site as I get new photos or diary entries.

***** UPDATES *****
Where do I start? The Race for the Cure was great! My friend, Regina, joined me and we had a great time. I guess the next big thing is that 5 of us Tampa Bay walkers were interviewed for Sue Zelenko's Lifetime Friends segment that will air on Channel 10 locally, on the 6:00 PM news, Friday October 10th. The footage should be put out to Sue's site after airing. You can view it via the Channel 10 link. Thirdly, We're going to have a silent auction at Alley Cats November 1st, with the Holloween party. My friend Mario, ex NYC cop who worked 9/11, just went up north and got with some of the firemen and policemen that he knows and we're auctioning off a t-shirt signed by them and photos of these American Heros!

And I have a new photo to share with you. These are some of my Tampa walkers!
